Do you have to be insane or psychotic to be popular or powerful in today's American society?

When I look at the past midterm election. I thought about power and what it takes to be part of the political and power structure in America. Some one like Meg Whitman raised 140 million dollars for one race...to lose? Carly spent a lot of money. They are talking about Nancy Pelosi with a 8% approval rating, but she still wants to be in power. Harry Reid is also still low in approval.

It just seems crazy to go through that trouble to be part of the power structure for a couple of years and then do it again.

And then Sarah Palin, we hear about her everyday. She is on the news every day, speaking to millions. With these abstract, general comments.

Who wants to listen to her? Apparently, the networks think millions do.

Do they really believe they are helping? I am sure, some are. But they are so sure of themselves. They run their campaign or gain power so that people will listen to them.

I find the whole thing kind of odd.

Let's take Sarah Palin. She doesn't have a present job (I guess Fox News contributor). She has been running for president for 4 years without any real position. What an amazing amount hubris.

Seriously, when is the last time you woke up and said, "I have to make sure that millions of people hear what I have to say. And then in several years, I will run for president"....crazy.
