She says that she wants to work on our friendship first.
So, after a few months of hanging out with this girl, flirting, talking all the time, etc.... I asked her what she thought of our relationship. In a nutshell, she said that she A. Doesn't really want to date her freshman year of college, but "that could change." and B. She feels like we don't just talk enough, and she wants to work on our friendship.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that she was smiling a lot when she said this, and we hung out afterwards and talked for a good bit of time.
Don't get me wrong, the talk definitely clarified things, and I'm feeling pretty good about our relationship right now, but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do at this point. Do I escalate things faster, or let her do it? Is it appropriate to be talking to her/texting her/etc... a lot more now?
