IAMA college sophomore who just got into the Disney College Program. I'm looking for any advice, insight, or stories to help me to decide whether to accept...

(crosspost in r/AskReddit. I want all the advice I can get!)

I got into Quick Service Food and Beverage. I am pretty crushed by the news, because I was very hopeful to work in attractions or audition to be a character. What I was offered was minimum wage pay to probably work a snack booth or a buffet. It seems like I will have very minimal guest interaction and little chance to bond with employees.

I feel like I'm being a baby, because I know there are thousands of student workers and not all of us will be special employees. I know I can go down there and have an awesome time, too.

Still, I'm not sure if I want to follow through. Next semester is really the only workable option for me, though. I know, I know. It's Disney! But I don't want to be stuck in a job that may be miserable for 7 months (Jan - August). There is evidently no way to advance or switch roles. I'm a very hard worker, and I actually love working to be honest, but I would never apply for a similar job if it weren't in Disney, you know?

I'd be able to get six credits of independent study work toward my majors, plus elective credit if I chose to do that. My paychecks would probably be $200 a week, according to forums posts I have read from past cast members.

If anyone can offer any advice, stories, or insight, I just want someone to talk to...
