Reddit: I am trying to find information on how much my US Congressional district benefits from Federal spending. Can you help?

I live in Huntsville, AL, which is District 5 for US House in Alabama. We are home to the Redstone Arsenal, Marshall Space Flight Center, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and many other contractors that benefit hugely off of US Federal spending.

We just elected a tea party candidate, Mo Brooks, into office and I want to put some numbers together to show just how dumb everyone in District 5 is to vote in a guy that wants to reduce Federal spending when so many of the people that voted for him make their living off of Federal spending.

Any help is much appreciated.
