Has anyone else noticed a decrease in the rate at which saplings are dropped from leaves?

I used to be able to break all the leaves from my tree farm supplying more than enough saplings for the next batch of trees. However this doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Has anybody else noticed this or is it just me?
