PS3 and a blank screen

Hi, just wondering if anyone else encounters this problem and if there is a solution.

I've got my ps3 connected up to my tv through HDMI, but randomly when turning on my television has just a black screen. No matter how many times you turn off and on the ps3 the picture doesn't appear, and the only work around I've found is to disconnect the tv from the power source and plug it back in again. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated!
