FYI: How Creative does surround sound and SPDIF

Ok so i've always loved creative sound blasters, but when i go an X-Fi Titanium pro Fat1ty edition. it became a nightmare for setting up surround sound over SPDIF. Apparently there is the intuitive way of configuring surround sound through SPDIF like Intel or Realtek does, Make the SPDIF out you default sound output and tell it to encode in Dolby Digital or DTS. And then there's Creatives way; Set Speakers as the default sound output then go into their configuration console and set the digital encoder to DD or DTS. Why would creative make the SPDIF an extension off the Analog outputs?? By far the most jerry rigged way of doing Digital Out.
