Damn, Reddit, you're looking fine today! What? No, I don't want anything from you. Since you asked though, I am having some trouble replacing my Lenovo laptop screen.
I bought a screen on ebay supposedly for my model (IdeaPad Y530) before I removed the water-soaked original. Now that it's open, I see the backlight connectors are different. I'm also not sure if the data connectors are the same - as you can see from the pics, my male data connector is a bit charred and missing a pin so I was afraid to plug it in. Though the screen was not functional after the cat doused it with my beverage, and my converter board looks rough, the backlight did come on on the old screen. Pretty please can you tell me what to do?
TL;DR:
-
Did I buy the wrong screen? -OR-
-
Do I need some kind of intermediate connector to make this one work?
-
My computer's male data connector is toasted, how do I fix that?

The backlight came on (unevenly) on the old screen but my board looks rough. Replace it?
