Why does marijuana reform need to be a ballot initiative?

Lots of Arizonans and South Dakotans are sad and disappointed over the failure to pass the laws required to give them access to important medications (medical cannabis) without the risk of jail time.

Democrats, you pushed so hard for a national healthcare system on the basis that you care about the American public having access to healthcare; I am (and hopefully we are) asking you to prove it. Cannabis is a life-changing "miracle" medicine for people with MS or people undergoing chemotherapy. Giving them access to legalized medical cannabis would cost you nothing, and would adhere to your stated goal of providing health servies to Americans.

This is something you can do now, something that will cost you nothing, and something that will seriously change a lot of people's lives for the better.

Do this. If you don't, you're a bunch of hypocritical liars. Yes, even you, democrats.

I don't think I speak for all of us, but I believe I speak for a lot of us when I say that I want to see this as a major political issue for the rest of 2010, and I want to continue seeing this as a major political issue until suffering people are afforded the right to use medicines that will change their lives.
