Minecraft Constantly Crashing?

After the update, i have been constantly crashing in minecraft. The screen turns black and i have to alt-tab to hit the 'x' button. Upon doing this, the error box that comes up says something to the effect of "Java binary has stopped responding". Is there any way i can fix this?
