Question(s) about RPI dorm rules; any RAs that can enlighten me? Feel free to add more Qs

I have some LED rope lights (the encased in plastic ones) that I would like to hang up. I know the lighting policies are put in place to prevent fires (the old christmas lights could cause a spark) and dorm room fires were a hot topic in the earl 00's. My question is are they allowed? My intuition says no but I see others with much more 'dangerous' kinds of lights in their rooms. Should I just put them up?
