sometimes i hate myself for ever submitting to OurStage.com...
so i rarely use ourstage, but i saw that a favorite british show, skins, was being remade for american tv and MTV was having a little contest to pick the theme song.
i submitted a track and within a few days had a couple of conflicting comments.
i think the thing that really bothers me is that i had spent so much time before i even submitted a track listening to what was on the site... there is a lot of overproduced pop and very bad songs dressed up in studio sheen. and i thought i could add a bit of charm and homemade inspiration into the mix...
it turns out though that i am not cut out for this kind of intense scrutiny from studio types. i'm not sure what this post means, but i thought i'd share my feelings, because, well, this is the internet after all.
tl;dr: ourstage.com is kind of like that club that always has a line out front: you'd like to get in because it looks cool, but once inside, it turns out you've spent all your money on one beer and now the music is hurting your brain and you just want to be back in your room with a cheap 6 and maybe a few pals or pizza.
