What cat litter do you use?

I've been using clumping clay litter for years, but I'm thinking about changing. My cats don't always cover and I think it's the smell of the litter they don't like (maybe?). Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has had any success with litter that isn't clay based. My cats also hate anything in pellet form, like sawdust pellets. Any suggestions?
