My (Slightly Late) Thoughts on the Mythic Storm King.
First of all, congrats to everyone that has completed the Mythic Storm King and has obtained one (or more) of the new weapon set! I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just managed to complete him myself. I didn't find a post like this, so I figured I'd give a bit of my input on the whole thing. TL;DR at the bottom.
Storm King
First of all, wow. I'm just kind of amazed about this whole thing. The Storm King mission was surprisingly difficult for the first couple runs. I'm really glad it was a "this mission is hard" kind of difficulty, and not just a "this mission takes long". Paying too much attention to the storm king and ignore minibosses? You lose. Pay too much attention to the Miniboss and don't notice Mr. SK getting ready to FIRIN HIS LAZOR? Your entire team gets wiped in an instant. And don't even get me started on those horns. You don't do that near-perfectly? Your run is over.
This, in addition to Dungeons, is the kind of difficulty I really enjoy. Before this, attempting the "end game" content required settling down for 2+ hours per run if you got close to completion each time (see: Frostnite, Endurance). Especially lately, I simply don't have the time to do that kind of stuff as often. Here, it's more about learning how the mechanics work and perfecting a bit more run after run. I personally like this direction.
Mythic Weapon Set
This is the aspect I'm most happy with. Not only are the weapons all incredibly unique, they're also actually representative of their rarity strength-wise too. At some point, Legendary weapons just became the base rarity of weapons. No one uses epic-or-less weapons other than right at the start of the game or with the Founders Revolt. "Legendary" doesn't necessarily imply anything about the weapons, the same goes for heroes, it's just the minimum you need in most cases. However, the new set really is deserving of the mythic title; They're something you can strive for.
The way you acquire these is also something I've been hoping for for quite some time now. Buying the new weapon from the shop... It's not rewarding. Getting a new weapon from a Llama... It's pretty similar. With these, you actually need to put in the work. You need to have played for a long time to even attempt the mission, but you also need to work to beat this legitimately challenging boss fight in order to obtain one of them. That, in addition to the timegate to keep people coming back for a while to collect the whole set, makes these weapons really feel like something special, something you can be proud of owning. I sincerely hope Epic gives themselves a pat on the back for this and takes notes for the future.
Conclusion/TL;DR
I, for one, really dig the new content. I love everything from the MSK mission itself (not too long, but still challenging) to the weapon set (really feel like Mythic Rarity Weapons) to the way these new weapons are obtained. Overall, this is the most excited I've been about new content in quite some time. Wanna throw a quick bit of love towards the Dungeons too, I loved the maps (especially Grotto) and the different mechanics each of them had. I'd be happy to see more dungeon/raid-esque content in the future as well, keeping in mind the things that worked well here.
Thanks E🅱ic, very cool.

My biggest pet peeve with this is the endgame content this is seems more like a BR players endgame than a STWs.
All my knowledge of trap tunneling, funneling husks, and base builds are useless here. A PC BR player that builds skyscrapers in a blink of an eye will be more skilled in this fight than a tactically thinking constructor that soloed all SSDs. (Not to mention the horrible framerate on consoles makes this fight unbearable for me).
True, that's fair. I've more been comparing it to traditional MMORPG raids/bosses, where you don't really have building, but I see where you're coming from. I sometimes get really burnt out on building since it's the meta for everything else, I enjoyed the high-action, quick on your toes fight for a change of pace.
Yeah, all the defend this and defend that missions can get tiring after a while.
