[UNPAID] seeking artist for complete 8 page script, good portfolio piece

I have a completed script for an 8 page modern adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Match Girl. This is an adaptation of a public domain story.

The nature of the comic requires color, so I'm looking for either one artist who can ink and color, or an inker and colorist.

If you're interested please comment or DM me with examples of your work! Sequentials if possible!

This is a silent comic, there is no lettering aside from title and credits.

This is unpaid, but should make a nice portfolio piece for everyone involved!

About me: studied comics, have two shorts in anthologies, working on more!

What is the base of the script? I don’t know the original, but I’m interested.. I just want to gauge if it’s within my skill set.

It's based on The Little Match Girl which is a very short story, you can read it online for free, it's like a five minute read. Written in the 1800s. A little girl sells matchsticks in winter, can't sell any, can't go home empty-handed or she'll face abuse. She stays outside in the snow all night, lighting a few precious matches for warmth. Within their heat she sees visions of warmth, food, and her beloved grandma. She eventually succumbs to the cold and dies.

My version is a modern day take with an adult protagonist, a homeless woman named Lily. I've worked a lot with people who are homeless, and where the moral of the original is something like "it's okay this kid froze to death because now she's in heaven" mine tries to say something more like "maybe instead of letting people freeze to death we should have compassion and not treat people like subhuman garbage."

Oh wow, that actually sounds amazing and hits very close to home for me. I’ve been homeless for the majority of the last three years.

I really don't think the moral of the story is it is okay to let children freeze and die.

It has a hopeful ending because her existence in heaven will be better on Earth, which makes readers less upset about her death. Imo instead of making her death "okay" a better takeaway would be caring for other humans. Either way, my phrasing was clearly reductive, and that's not really the point of the post.
