What countries do you play the most and why? Do you tend to stay in or out of Europe?

I use Portugal as an easy test control when I'm experimenting or testing things. Beyond that, I've played so many different nations, that it would be difficult to remember if I've even played them more than twice. To date, the only nations I'm sure I've played more than twice are Spain, Portugal, and Austria. 3 Austria games, I think 5 as Castille/Aragon(can't remember which for all cases), and probably like 30 as Portugal for reasons stated above.

i tend to stay in europe 90% of the time.
france, england, germany (HRE especially cologne), iberian regions
france/england - i like their roles in that era and adore the hundred years' war. those were my first encounters with history i liked
HRE (cologne) - my hometown has to be in cologne territory even if it wasnt found back then also i'm really interested in the founding of germany and prussia.
iberian regions - colonialisation reasons, one of my first games i've played was age of empires 3 and the new world played a huge role in it.
overall its the history of europe which makes me play as one of its countries
the last 10% or so go to japan and the ottoman empire
japan - shogunates are pretty sick and their whole culture is just fascinating
ottoman - as my parents are from ottoman territory (turkey) there a some connections which draw me there, too. its the same as for german provinces, but im more interested in the HRE and christian culture in games and history.
also the holy war(s) were, are and always be my biggest interest in history over all where the crusaders take a special place in my heart and the legacy of europe after the seventh crusade.

I’ve played Hamburg 4 times while everything else is max twice. I love the color and their position is very versatile, starting as a free city on the borders of the HRE with ocean access. Plus I have a lot of nostalgia since I did my first planned achievement run with them.

I like to pick a nation and play it 4-5 times in a row until I feel I’ve really mastered it. Currently, I’ve been working on Kilwa into Andalusia. Though when I finish my current run, I’m ready to move on to something new. Other countries I recently played repeatedly are Kazan, Muscovy, and Castile.

I do play a good amount of England and Netherlands in Europe
Otherwise there isn't really a pattern, just randomly looking at the map and deciding from there
Tbh it's very hard to start a campaign these days due to how many hours I've logged.
Do you use mods to spice it up? When i will have that many hours logged i imagine i'd do as many achivments as i can.
I don't play nearly as much as I used to. Maybe play a campaign if I get a idea or interest in a nation, otherwise don't play too much.
