english anxiety

i wanna write in english

not because i don't know other languages

but because -

well;

english stretches

from the lonely sea to the crowded land

but looking at its width

i just don't know if i can

what if i

don't know the words

or stumble over them

when i try to speak?

pouring out my feelings to a crowd

faces staring at me

with no knowledge

as to if they should cry or scream

a leak of tears running down their cheeks

a horrible dream

but at least

i got to share

all of these fires burning up inside of me

Note: I am a Danish native speaker, and I have some trouble writing poetry in English, so I tried to put that struggle into a poem for fun. Let me know what you think:)
