However hard the clouds tried
However hard the clouds tried
To stall the cascading light
It still kissed those vanity heights
But struggled through the skylines
The naked rays danced about; And
That labyrinth of light aroused
A tiring vigour in deathly drowse
Like honey-coloured strings tied to puppets
And when the world’s washed over
By that yellow paint, like a wallpaper
It delivers hope, the greatest despair
To the darkest of downtown alleyways
It gifts what no one wants, everyday
Like that smiling child picking daisies
Monochrome; Breath, Beard and blood-grey
Burned out faces seared with dismay
It’s a bright, bright earth; Deluged,
By scintillant light plenty
It’s a paragon, where every voice is heard, and every smile seen,
Hopefully.
