When it comes to clothing what do you suggest for 10-30 degree weather?

Bibs over a base layer work well for me, dont need to be fancy camo either, carhartts have killed a lot of deer

My goal is always the least amount of gear on to keep me comfortably warm. I don’t want to look like the little kid from A Christmas Story and not be able to put my arms down. I wear my ecwcs from my time in the army under my camo. At 10-15 I’d have my insulated carhartt bibs on over the top of all that. If I can keep my head, hands, and feet warm I can usually tough it out. Good gloves and a wool watch cap are a must but my heated insoles have kept me out longer when I would have quit without them.

Heated insoles sound interesting. My feet are pretty much impossible to keep comfortable and I'm wearing 900 thinsulate. I've tried the electric socks and could feel no difference.

I have thermacell inserts. You charge them and then put them in your boots. They have a remote control and to extend battery life, I just turn them on for 15-20 minutes at a time until my feet get toasty and then shut them off again. They are game changers

You're either sweating in them because they're too insulated or they are too tight with the socks you're wearing. No way that 900 isn't enough. I'd leave your boots out in the cold, maybe in the back of the truck, until you get to your spot. You can warm them on your hike in without sweating. Avoid the chemical hand warmer style for your boots, they don't work since there's no oxygen in your boots. The electric ones will probably work though!

Merino wool base layer, wool socks. Thank me later.

Thank you now. I have that already but should have clarified more. I need a better pant. Right now I have basically polyester ski pants I need to replace. Suggestions?

O ok, an insulated bib will replace those ski pants well.

I wear insulated leggings/long johns under a pair of thick sweat pants under the bibs. I also wear tall muck Boots and that helps keep my legs nice and warm too.

Jeans under insulated carhartt bibs, flannel shirt and a hoodie under a woolrich mackinaw jacket, wool socks with arctic muck boots, and a beanie. I’m good to 10 degrees for a 4+ hour sit

At a minimum, base layer, a light to midweight layer over that, and then a jacket/shell pants.

In reality 10 degrees is way different than the upper end of the range. Personally depending on how low the temp is I will double base layers, double two lighter tops and double a light to midweight on bottom, and then throw on the appropriate jacket over it. I've got a down pullover that packs small that I can throw on to take the range sub 10 degrees. Thats how I do it, some may disagree but I believe in layering to its fullest, its less bulky and you dont get as hot when you have to move.

You can layer gloves too. Use a typical lighter glove and run it underneath a fingerless glove/mitten flip up, can the flip ups with hand warmers and you wont need a heavier glove with less dexterity.

What you wear at 10 degrees would be too hot for 30 degrees. Two pairs of pants and 3 or 4 sweatshirts with some undershirts is good to minus 15 celcius with moderate activity. Then when it gets warm you can just shed layers

The outfit I have currently fits well for removing layer it is only my pants I really want to replace with something quieter/less bulky. I found some wool pants that looked good at a cabelas nearby but not sure what people think about performance.

I go hunting deer hunting in Wisconsin if that helps.

Then just put on a pair of long John's under quieter pants Edit: I have carhart insulated bibs and they're bulky. Most insulated bibs are bulky in my opinion. A pair of pyjamas or long John's under Jean's or normal hunting pants is probably your cheapest bet.
