AITA for throwing roommates food away after they left my food out overnight

Everyone Sucks

Pretext: im broke. Have not a lot of money/food so I rely on what I can scrounge up. I know how cook and am the only one who knows more than spaghetti or hotdogs

So last night I made a green bean casserole to last me a few days with what I had left in the pantry/what I was given from family. I offered a bite to my roommates to taste, but told them not to eat more than a quarter of it. (They’ll eat it all if i dont offer to share and give a limit)

I put it away then went to bed (second to last to go to bed). I guess one of them decided to have a bit more before going to bed because I woke up to about half of it gone and it left on the fucking counter when I woke up. I know exactly who did it because I was the first awake and he was still up when I went to bed.

(I dont know if it is safe to eat? It was out for at most 7 hours from me eating some and finding it in the morning.)

So I sat in the living room to wait for him to wake up and confront him. He said it was MY fault it was left out and that he won’t fix what he thinks is my mistake. He wont share his food (none of them do unless it is “paid back”) and says “a bite of shitty casserole isnt the same”

So I decided to throw out one of his own leftovers. He got a big plate of leftovers from his family’s thanksgiving so I took that and made sure it all touched the garbage can. He’s pissed and our yelling woke the other two who are now both calling me an asshole.

Edit: forgot to mention this is a campus.

So AITA?
