What are some major landmarks for the cities of Morrowind to include in a hand drawn map?
I hope this is the right place to ask for something like this. If not, it would be nice to be pointed to a more suitable subreddit.
I'm drawing a map of the Morrowind province (both Vvardenfell, Solstheim and mainland). I've done some research to find out which cities and landmarks I should include, but the sources vary quite a bit. Instead of using just simple generic symbols for landmarks and cities, I want to draw the most important or prominent landmarks for the most important locations. I want the map to be lore friendly, but I don't think I can get enough information from the games as some of the places seems much smaller in-game than they are supposed to be in the lore.
I have some ideas (for example Vivec's temple and the meteor Baar Dan for Vivec, and the giant crab for Ald'Ruhn), but I need some inspiration for the other places. The biggest cities are the priority at the moment, but if you know of some other important landmarks, just tell me! For minor settlements I think I will make more generic symbols, exept if they are very important or prominent. It is after all a hand drawn map, and I don't want it to be to cluttered with every small cave or bandit camp. I have looked at some maps from the Tamriel Rebuilt project, but there the map is filled with too much detail to include in my map, and also I don't know how lore friendly all of the places are.
Anything would help; from specific buildings, to architecture or religious/political symbols for the area. The cities I want to include at the moment are:
- Vivec
- Balmora
- Ald'Ruhn
- Sadrith Mora
- Black Light
- Kragenmoor
- Ebonheart
- Narsis
- Mournhold
- Tear
- Necrom
- Port Telvanis
- Firewatch
