Help making a themed team

I am trying to build a team in the idea of being champion is like being a gym leader. So I build a team around the ground type cause my signature pokemon is Flygon, but I was not happy whit the team. So now I'm going more for a lore based theme, because Flygon is known has the dessert spirit. But I need help to find other pokemon that have that kind of glory to there name.
