Barclays companion ticket offer

I fly almost exclusively on American Airlines. Probably spend $10-$15 a year on tickets alone.

I cancelled my AA card exactly 2 years ago; I have a host of travel cards (CSR, Amex Gold) that I use for travel now.

Today my wife and I received promos for the Barclays card that offers a "companion" ticket. Should I opt for this card? Is there another card that will help me accumulate more miles? FWIW, i already have Admirals Club access through my company.
