Problem with audio in Mass Effect 1

I just bought the Mass Effect Trilogy for PS3. I booted up ME1 and while the opening cutscene, the one where they talk about how Shepard is the knelt one who can save the world or whatever. But when I got to the scene where joker is talking to you and you’re given the first dialogue options, But the voice acted lines for the characters don’t play. The game isn’t mute, I can hear the sound effects in the background of the scene and when I’m not in a cut scene the sound works, including voice acted lines. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
