Humiliated
I am 27 weeks pregnant. Although my fiance and I are excited to welcome this baby, we were a little unprepared financially. I was without a job at the beginning of this pregnancy, but have now been working for a few months. Even with working we are still slightly behind on our bills but we're getting caught up. We don't have many friends or family around to throw a baby shower to help with preparing and so my fiance thought it would be okay to post a go fund me account to Facebook. I shared it to a few groups myself, hoping for the best. The response I've gotten is embarrassing and humiliating....it was hard enough for me to admit that we were in a position to warrant help, and the hate that I have received has been over whelming. I knew when I found out I was pregnant it was going to be tough. I have a 15 year old and my fiance had a 4 year old that passed away from a medical condition a few years ago. I didn't want to reach out for help, but my fiance sees the best in the world. The need for help would only be temporary. I get that... I guess I'm struggling with all the trolling and judgemental opinionated people. I'm struggling with the negativity toward a couple that wants to raise a child but need monetary help for a short period. Because apparently that's irresponsible. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought maybe people would be more understanding. Not everyone has perfect circumstances...I'm headed toward my mid thirties, I've already had a cervical cancer scare, and we had a miscarriage last year. We wanted to have a baby together before it was too late. Is that irresponsible? We wouldn't be able to adopt for those of you wanting to suggest that or thinking that. I never imagined that there would be just as much hate out there towards someone wanting a family and being in a little bit of a struggle, as there are out their for women and couples who choose to have abortions, or choose to be childless altogether. I'm sorry if this is just a long winded rant. I guess I just wanted to share how I felt and my opinion. I'm sorry if I offended anyone or you think it's inappropriate. I appreciate constructive criticism if you have some.
