Do you ever hope an opportunity fails?

You ever have a great opportunity like a job or something but inside for whatever reason you really hope it fails or doesn’t come through because you actually don’t want it but because of external pressures such as societal or familial you also don’t want to openly oppose it or not even try to go for it?
