Hard drive recommendations

I use my Shield solely for watching movies and tv series. What would be the best hard drive to replace one that keeps having issues? I have two currently both from seagate. One I bought in December of 2014 and it’s still working fine. One I got exactly a year ago that keeps having problems. Ideally I would like to spend $100 and get at least 4tb to replace the one with issues. I say ideally but I’m limited to maximum spending of $100. TIA for all your help!

ETA I’ve been browsing amazon and there’s just so many options I’m really at a loss in what to choose. Each has great overall ratings but lots of negative reviews as well. I’ve been arguing with seagate since February and they’ve done zero to help or honor the warranty. So I’d prefer to stay away from them.

Also good to know in the future I can add it to a NAS if I decide to do that. Thank you all again for the responses and advice!!
