The Battle of Kings episode 9: Animal Cruelty!
Hello and welcome to a bright sunny day at TBOK! The desperado has wrapped up and as we welcome Megabyte into the top 16, it's every bot for itself now as the 63 robots left do everything they can for a spot themselves! We have a veritable barnyard of robots today, all ready to show just why they deserve a spot among the best! Let's not waste any time and get right into it!
We open up with an interteam dispute, as War Hawk and Cat King take to the arena together! While members of Cat Kings team have played with WAR Hawk in the past, this time they'll be facing that which they helped make a top 16 appearance a few years ago! With both robots on 1-1, it's all or nothing today!
As much as we all love it, I doubt we all expected to see Kraken in the 2-0 section of the list, but there you go! With victories over Cracked Sword and Mr Hippo, it might be argued they've fought against some of the weakest of the other team, so we're giving them a real test! The beast of the seas, about to fight another beast of the ocean! ...No it's not Great White, I'm talking about Deep Sea Shark, currently on 1-1, this robot is in trouble, but when one of the wins is against Hydra, and the loss against Witch Doctor, Deep Sea Shark is probably one of the safest 1-1 robots we have right now! It's time to find out who the true apex predator of the oceans is...
Next up, two of our 2-0 bots face off to prove who deserves to go further! Rhino and Uppercut might not be the robots you immediately think of when I mention the shows, but they're carving out themselves a clear sign that they are not to be underestimated! Which vertical spinner will rise higher? It's time to find out!
Then we come to the midway major! ICEwave is sitting pretty at 2-0, with powerful wins over Switch and Storm Cut, but we wanted to give it a robot that will really test the power of that blade, so how about Drift? The famed defense of this lifter is certainly no exaggeration, as it staved of Valkyrie for as long as it needed to before taking out the fan-favorite undercutter, before losing in a brutal fight to Lockjaw! And from one legend to another, Drift certainly has its work cut out for it! Is this the break it finally needs?
It's no secret that we have alot of robots currently at 0-2, so let's pit two of them together and see who can give us a cheeky little redemption! Now who expected Duck! to be at this point? Here's a hint, No one! After back to back losses against Rhino and Sandstorm, DUCK! is in a spot of bother, so here's hoping that it might find some solace against White Tiger Guardian While it's a powerful spinner in the same vain as Rhino, the Guardian has been known to lose its weapon easier, so if DUCK can survive the onslaught like it always seems to, it seems like victory will be assured! But you never know!
Two fan favourites at 1-1 take to the box next, both at a fairly weak 1-1 actually, so both need this win more than anything! While their losses weren't anything to be ashamed of, both wins are currently 0-2, so they need all the help they can get! Who are these two? Why it's Blacksmith and Storm Cut! Will the flaming hammer have its day or will the storm blow it away?
Just before the main event, we have one more fight between two robots in a fairly comfortable 1-1 position, as China faces off against China. The beater bar of Railgun MAX and the blades of Flaming Wheel collide right now! Will Railgun's weapon issues make their appearance known, or will Flaming Wheel be taken out so quickly that the issues won't be a... well an issue!
And lastly, we come up to this messed up fairytale of an fight that is our main event, as dragon faces off against.. a rabbit! It's Gruff VS Black Rabbit! Both at 2-0, these two have proved themselves to show huge promise in this battle of the kings, Black Rabbit especially as it took out two big spinners in Monsoon and Railgun MAX! Will Gruff be the third kill on an already impressive list? Or has the rabbit already tired itself out?
Cat King (1-1) VS WAR Hawk (1-1)
Deep Sea Shark (1-1) VS Kraken (2-0)
Rhino (2-0) VS Uppercut (2-0)
Midway Major: ICEwave (2-0) VS Drift (1-1)
White Tiger Guardian (0-2) VS DUCK (0-2)
Storm cut (1-1) VS Blacksmith (1-1)
Railgun MAX (1-1) VS Flaming Wheel (1-1)
Main Event: Gruff (2-0) VS Black Rabbit (2-0)
And with that we're back into the fight night! I really hope you've all enjoyed and I'm looking for at least a small bit of detail in your votes as always, but besides that, enjoy!
