Current State of the Hawks
While we look terrible right now, especially after that Colorado game, I'm not too worried. See this year I feel is a bit of a transition year. This year a good amount of players are having slumps; Debrincat, Toews, etc. But next year, not only will those people hopefully put up more points (Debrincat for Rocket Richard next year?) But we will have more forwards to add to the lineup (Barratt, maybe entwistle, etc) Not only that But our Defense will become much better, with the addition of boqvist and probably Mitchell, maybe Gilbert will get a little better and management will realize he is actually pretty good, along with other D prospects getting closer like Chad Krys and Nick Beaudin. Maybe JC (if he is still here) will realize how good Murphy is and not put him on the bottom line paired with mostly scrubs. I mean he turns those scrubs into amazing player.
The one reason I'm ok with losing this year is because of the stacked draft class. Of course I would never want my Hawks intentionally losing, but since this is a transition year and we have a good amount of new faces most likely arriving next year losing and getting someone like Holtz or Raymond would be insane.
My only fear is a big one though. Lehner. I love the man, you love the man, he is great. But he is in his prime and the way he is playing deserves a cup. I don't know is Lehner sticks around, and if he doesn't that's a problem. But if he wants to stay and we resign him, our future looks bright.
But that's just my 2 cents. What are your thoughts ?
