Levi Can't Handle It

So I posted once which was Killing Eiko and promised to continue it, but I couldn't find a way to advance the plot and I was just out of ideas. Here's a thing I wrote, I hope you guys can enjoy it. I may or may not have improved on my writing but it's for you guys to judge

LEVI CANT HANDLE IT

It was dinner time. Levi sat on the hard wooden chair as he waited for mother to serve him dinner. It was cold as usual. The only source of light being the candles placed in the middle of the long table. Decorated with a white tablecloth, yellow carnations littered the table. Levi's eyes stared at the flowers, words forming in his mind but never passed his mouth. Mother made her feelings clear and his unnecessary words would only cause more harm than good.

The door opened with a soft click and mother walked in along with his dinner. Mother donned a grey wrinkled dress with a black laced veil covering her face, along with a pair of pure white satin gloves decorating her long, thin fingers.

"Here you go sweetie," She whispered with a soft voice. Placing the food on the table, she spoke again, "I would be thrilled if you finished them all."

She opened the cover to reveal four eerily dark heart-shaped chocolates. Levi knew this could potentially be his last meal. The chocolate was uncharacteristically darker than usual, even under the exposure of a dim room. But Levi could only nod and took a bite out of one of chocolate. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to control his expression. The chocolate was bitter. Too bitter. The taste of chocolate was non-existent yet Levi could only continue eating. The urge to cry was evident as his eyes started to tear up.

With each bite he took, the room felt colder. The itch in his throat was overwhelming, causing Levi to cough. His body shook as he lets out rough and dry coughs that filled the eldritch room. A trail of blood flowed out the corner of his mouth, trickling down to his neck. Thoughts echoed in his head that longed for an escape from mother. But another was more dominant than others. "MAKE MOTHER HAPPY!" Bombarded his thoughts, which increasingly gets muffled as he stared at the empty plate.

Mother's arms enveloped Levi's shaking body. Her arms colder than ice. It was not out of the need to comfort or to express love. Levi knew but it was the best he could get from mother. She lets go of Levi, then placed her index fingers at the corners of his mouth. Staining her white gloves with dots of scarlet red blood, she pushed her fingers upwards. "You did it, now smile baby."

Mother takes out a rose that shined a radiant red in the dim room. Placing it behind his ear, Levi could feel the thorns painfully pierced his skin. Levi drunkenly smiled, letting out a small chuckle before the already dark and painful world of his, fade to a numbing darkness.
