Should I upgrade?
With the help of you wonderful people, I built my first PC in 10 years at the beginning of this year. It handles just about anything I can throw at it at top settings, or if not, then with very few compromises. I've done everything from Call of Duty WW2 to X-Plane 11 to Forza, to others in between including new releases like Fallen Order and The Outer Worlds. There's really nothing I can complain about, other than expected lag around major airports with in X-Plane.
I'm here today to ask if there's anything I should do to upgrade. I don't need a full system rebuild, but just something to keep it current to keep up with new stuff out now or that might be coming soon. The only change I've made in the past year is adding a third hard drive.
Keeping in mind above what I use my PC for, I'll set my budget at $300 cash. This can include possible trade-in or trade-ups or resale of whatever I'm buying, plus the $300 cash. I'd like to stay well below this, but you all want a price limit and you're the experts :)
I was considering adding a second set of 2x8GB memory, but I'm not sure if that's necessary at this point.
I should add that I'm not looking for 4k gaming at this point. I've got just my single 1080p monitor, maybe buying a second later on.
Just assume I'm buying between now and the end of the year. Thanks!!
