Using Multiple Reddit Accounts for Your Stories vs. Starting Over With a New One
I had been sitting on a story for several years before I caught the writing bug again and decided to start putting myself out there again. On a whim, I changed up the ending, created a throwaway account (hence my current name) and posted the story to r/nosleep. There was a small amount of upvotes and minimal response. I shrugged my shoulders and moved along. But then, I was contacted by one of the more popular Creepy Pasta Youtube Accounts to record my story and I figured "why not?"
I got much more feedback within the comments section on YouTube and I must admit to getting a high off of that immediate gratification. From there, the ideas started flowing.
I then had the epiphany that many in this community have already had: that r/nosleep is a venue to post stories with the potential for a large audience, perhaps even larger than any horror zine I could submit to. My problem, I'm not entirely pleased with my username and am considering a change in name.
My question to you all is, how should I go about doing this? Can I re-submit my older stories under the new name somehow? Is there a convenient way to link them? Or should I just chug on ahead using my current name, as awkward and unwieldly as it is. I've also considered posting stories under aliases/in character, so if I am trying to build a following or audience, then has anyone found a way to validate those accounts under your main?
Sorry for all of the questions!
