Using my Performance Model 3 for Rideshare
Hey guys. I bought my Model 3 early so I get free supercharging. Aside from this, I have several locations where I can charge for free near my home as well as having solar panels at my home (paid off) so electricity costs for me are negligible.
I was considering ride sharing (Lyft & Uber) part time to supplement the cost of the car.
Question 1.) Has anyone else In this sub used their car for ride share and was it worth it?
I am looking to make $100-$400 month extra so I can pay off my car faster.
Question 2.) When I sign up for Lyft and Uber, I can set myself to only accept premium rides. If I turn on my apps while driving around locally, can I still deduct these miles as come tax time (Living in the US)?
Question3.) Also, if I just wanted the standard deduction, can I just ride around with the apps on and never pick anyone up? Can I only claim the standard deduction on the income I get from Lyft/Uber or can I also use that against my regular 9-5 job?
Thanks for any input
