Is it wrong, within the UU tradition, to say the following? Please see the text below.
"Unitarian Universalists are, like, good. They are the best. They are the very best. They are good people. And I am, like, the President. Also, I am, like, really very smart, believe me. That's why they can't impeach me. Also, serious. I am very serious. I am probably the most serious person. Maybe the most serious person that ever lived."
I had posted this on the Quaker subreddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Quakers/comments/e4han6/is_it_wrong_within_the_quaker_tradition_to_say/
The response was not what I had expected.
I am asking because it sounds like the Quakers are not on board with this type of talk. They would say that this is "mockery" or "sarcasm" aimed at Trump, and so that diminishes him as a human being.
UPDATE:I am not even mocking him. In actuality, this is just some words where I am mimicking someone else - for comedic effect. That said, I understand the reason for the confusion. Some other places which make fun of Trump: https://time.com/4741267/donald-trump-parody-twitter/
SECOND UPDATE: I think I am getting a sense of why it is so hard to do anything to Trump. In America, you don't have a Parliament where the person concerned would be forced to answer questions on the floor. And you have this -- vast differences of opinion on whether sarcasm and satire are at all permissible in particular forums/contexts. Maybe people can just post their responses on whether they think Trump should be impeached from here onwards. Who cares whether something is right or wrong in terms of exact wording? I don't believe in thought crimes. What i said is what i said. Let us discuss something with more ummm... technical aspects to it.
