One of my 8 year old students made an observation about winter and global warming.
We're supposed to get a lot of snow this winter. The student asked if it makes sense to get more snow even though the Earth's temperature is rising. I told him to think about it over lunch and talk to me in the afternoon.
He approached me and said he thinks that since it's getting warmer, more water evaporates in the summer and just stays in the clouds. Then in winter, it all comes down as snow. Even if the winter temperature changes from -15C to -10C it's still going to come down as snow because it's below 0C.
Not sure if that's all 100% correct but I'm happy he figured out something that makes sense.
