Is it possible to have ADHD and Bipolar?
I only ask this because in highschool I was an extremely hyperactive kid who did really stupid and impulsive shit. I was unable to sit for more than 5 minutes, I was unable to keep up with my thoughts or speech and I often disrupted the other students, basically, when I was in the classroom, the students learnt nothing. Because of my behaviour, I was forced to drop out of school.
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 18. My diagnosis made so much sense to me, when I am manic, I feel like a God, I am overly-confident, get abit cocky, can't keep up with my thoughts, everything is so vivid, the world is so beautiful, and then I crash into depression for weeks or months on end.
It took me a while (4 years in fact) but now I can confidently say that I am stable, and have been for about 8 months. However, now that I have returned to my studies, I am noticing patterns and behaviours very similar to those that I had in highschool. I can't sit in a classroom for too long, I can't concentrate on one thing, my mind wanders off to idk where, I get irritable, I can't stop shaking my legs, I can't stop fidgeting, I start tk get angry and frustrated, I feel the walls are closing in on me, I feel like I am trapped. I also struggle to read, I cannot read more than one paragraph without having the desire to pull my hair out or crawl out of my skin. I also work, I work at a supermarket and I am required to be on my feet for 10 hours. I love the job because I am so hyperactive, I just put all my "manic" or what feels like manic energy into my job. However, I feel that my co-workers are worried about me because they feel like I am overworking myself, that I hyperfixate. I have not had a full blown manic or depressive episode in about 4 months (I only get little spikes), but for some reason, these symptoms are still there. Is there a possibility that I may also be ADHD? Or am I not really not as stable as I think I am?
p.s. I am not asking for a diagnosis, I will be seeing my psychiatrist very soon, I just want some advice. Thank you <3
