Monsters under kids beds and in their closets..

We all have talked about monsters being under our beds or in our closets as kids.... even parents don't understand why their toddler kids scream for their moms and dads saying there are monsters under their beds.... they even have movies like Monsters Inc. to make light of it... by showing cute monsters in movies that are just getting screams from kids...

But does anyone else have a vivid memory of a monster coming out of their closet or under their bed? (Way before there was a monsters inc) I do.. I was probably only almost 2 and I remember my mom leaving me in my crib. She hadn't got me a bed yet even though I could crawl over the posts. I was playing with a few Lego toys....... and I remember this big shadow and looking behind me and something really scary came out of the closet and picked me up.. I remember screaming for my mom and crying and I told my mom there was a man in my room... and she looked and said nothing is there.. and after that I wouldn't sleep in my room at night. I crawled over those posts every night to sleep with my parents. I wouldn't even sleep in my new toddler bed I finally slept in my room when I got a real bed. (My poor parents and their sex life lol) I remember when my mom came the monster put me back down in my crib and crawled underneath stealing one of my Lego toys.... I remember my mom cleaning and I found the lego toy under my crib! ...... I guess I grew up calling him the "mopman" and one day I even told my mom "mommy, someday that mom man is going to kill me!" And she even tried taking down posters in my room she had up etc and I didnt stop saying this until I was like 7 or 8. I lived in the same house my whole life.... and I'm now 27 my parents gave this house to me and my daughter has my old room and has had no conplaints... scary enough if she said something was in there... I'd believe her.

Was this just something crazy going on in my mind as a toddler? Or did anyone else actually experience monsters coming out of their closets? Is this something non human? Thriving on souls of young kids? Or are we all just little crazy kids? What is the deal?
