New bf and college apps season

I recently met this boy who is absolutely incredible. I could honestly see myself spending the rest of my life, or even a couple years, with this kid. The problem is it’s already December and we’re both seniors. He’s planning on staying at a CC (in Florida) meanwhile I applied ED to Cornell. I didn’t know him at the time but now I’m rethinking everything. Can long distance work or is it best to cut it off before I leave (assuming I do get accepted, if not this is irrelevant since i’ll stay in state)
