Weird fleshy brain goo on tree trunk?

EDIT : SOLVED! Its a fungus called Purple Jellydisc And it's still absolutely appallingly gross

Guys, this was stuck to a moss covered fallen tree trunk, there was no other matter around, it looks like animal guts or alien matter, the thing is, it was stuck to the tree, we couldn't lift it with a stick.. Is it some crazy fungi? What is it?!?!
