3900x Build tuning for rendering and simulation
###Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
This computer will be used as a hobbyist workstation with a little bit of gaming to play some of that AAA again.
Been heavily into blender lately with a lot of physic, fluid, particle and hair simulations with some python scripting. I plan on doing a LOT more of those in the future and I feel my poor computer needing a rest from this. So modeling/rendering and simulation are the main goals. Will get more into video editing as time goes by.
I am also a developer and want to be VR ready.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
I'm used to low FPS on medium so I just want to run new game smoothly at high settings. Not necessarily going for 144hz performance but will probably hit it anyway.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
Around 3k$ CAD including a new screen. Number is not fixed I just want a good ROI.
In what country are you purchasing your parts? Canada
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

I'm really in love with the 3900x. I feel like I will use it to it's full potential and it will improve my flow a lot.
I will be running heavy load at night(simulation/rendering) close to my bed at night so I went with the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4instead of the stock cooler.
Not so sure about the mobo. I don't have gen2 processor to flash the mobo, and I'd like it to be future proof so I can keep this build alive. I don't think I need PCIe4 but I want 2 NVMe slots and having the option to SLI down the road is a nice-to-have to me. Should I get something better ?
32Gb of CAS16 3200 mhz with good timing at this price seems like a sweet spot to me. Will probably upgrade it to 64gb down the road.
I want this computer to be responsive and be ready to read/write good amount of files(simulation data, point clouds, ect) so I'm considering straight up getting a 970 1tb so I can get another 1tb later instead of going 1.5tb right now. I also have a 2tb HDD that will be archive storage.
Meshify seems like a perfect all-around case. Love the tinted window to reduce LED noise.
I currently have a radeon 280x that I will install in this new build and I might wait a bit before getting a new graphic card and the monitor. Recommendation on a card? Thinking about a 2070 super.
Let me know if you think I should move some money around. This build took me longer than expected and I would like to buy today or tommorow at the latest to enjoy the discounts.
Thanks!
