I think I have undiagnosed aspergers or autism, where to go get evaluated as an adult?

Ask Vancouver

I’ve been struggling in areas as an adult which are holding me back, after doing a lot of research I noticed a lot of these things line up with aspergers or autism. Was diagnosed with depression and adhd when I was younger, but I think that was an inaccurate diagnoses/symptom of a different issue.

As an adult, I’m wondering where I should go to get evaluated and if it’s covered by medical. I been going to a walk in clinic for the past 12 or so years with no regular doctor. I haven’t spoken to them yet, but if I don’t get answer here my next step is to head there and see if they can refer me somewhere.

Also if I do get diagnosed, what are the next steps to take? I’m good at my job but really struggling at work, it seems harder as I’m getting older. I’m shutting down at meetings, talking to people and it’s getting really hard to wake up and make it to work on time. There’s no alone time at work and I feel like a punching bag getting tossed from conversation to conversation to phone call to meetings to more conversation. On weekends/after work I’ve been too tired to do anything, even regular care like cleaning, showering, seeing people, cooking. All stuff I should be able to do as an adult. I’ll sleep sometimes 16 hours and still be exhausted.

Thanks
