Starting a setup

Hey, guys,

I am a guitarist who likes to write my own experimental solo music and also have a band. I'm thinking of buying a new drum set to improve my tempo skills and help my band perform. So how do I create an initial setup with the minimum To achieve these goals with a good sound? All information is valid for me and I really like blues and rock n roll.
