Why is matchmaking so f...ing broken?

I've been playing borderlands since the original came out, I usually play solo, don't have alot if friends that play on PS4. I dont enjoy being on mic, so it's nice to just hop in and grab a group. However my experience as of late has been either 2 man groups, error code when trying to matchmake or it blue screens me with an error code. I can complete the black site M4 solo with very little issue, however sometimes its nice to be in a group. Sorry for the rant, just a very frustrating morning.
