Is it worth reading IT after watching the first movie?

I'm debating whether or not to read IT since I've seen the first movie and I generally struggle with books after having watched the film adaptation. I've only watched the first film tho so theres alot of the book I havent seen. I know that the book is a lot more dark and there is more content but I still cant make my mind up. Help please!
