Roborock - should I leave it charging all time?

Question

Hi all,

I just purchuased Roborock S5 and did my frist cleaning (and I love it!).

I am just not sure if I should leave it charging all the time at docking station if it's going to run like once every 2-3 days. Should I turn it off and on with a button or what? What's better for the device? Won't it eat a lot of energy or start a fire if left charging for 2-3 days every time?

It won't start if it's turned off :)

Yeah, but on while left on charging it's technically still on, just probably in some kind of sleep mode?

Yes you should not turn it off

I have a Vacuum Robot v1. Its dock is plugged on a Xiaomi remote controlled power strip. With Mi Home, I power on remotely the power strip 30-60 minutes before starting the vacuum cleaner. Otherwise I think its lithium battery will slowly damage.

If you leave the vacuum robot unplugged too long, you won't be able to control it remotely.

The app says to keep it plugged in and charging.

I guess that's what the Chinese spy's want though!

I like knowing the Chinese are watching me in case "something" happens...

Haha, that's interesting way of thinking! :)

I think if someone wanted to spy on me it wouldn't be hard. I'm afraid I'm too unimportant and boring to watch though :P

It's a freakin vacuum. Don't worry. Even if the battery starts degrading.
