Anti internet sentiment from Mellencamp/Elton/Prince/T-Bone Burnett lately, do they have a point or are they just old and behind the times?

Prince has recently said bad things about the internet. Elton John has, not too long ago, and so have Mellencamp and T-Bone Burnett. Not strictly related to piracy, but the way it is possibly hurting the album as an art form. The way that any swinging dick can put out their own stuff these days. I'm trying to remain in the middle here. Does anyone agree with these guys with even a fibre of their opinion?
