Chose new major family and turns out only 1 is in my nation and can work yet they still expect 2 jobs?

Bug

I assume this is a bug as before families didn't care if they didn't have enough jobs if all male members that could work had a job. But this isn't the case anymore apparently.

Most of this new family are in another nation.

I gained this new family when I became a regional power and I picked one of the options it gave me because that person was already employed.

Edit: Mentioned 1 person was in the Olympics but I never checked if he also was in my nation or not I don't think. Will verify when can go back on game but the point regardless is that if I go to any government office position and go to hire someone, no options from that family are there (and that 1 guy who is already hired so doesn't appear for that reason).

Also many years have passed since then and issue still persists.

Have you actually tried unpausing? It lets you adopt people to the families that have too few members to fill jobs. Also, the Olympics only take your character away for about 2 months, you van probably survive with a scorned family for 2 months.

I've played like 10 years with this because it not a big deal. I know I can adopt into my main family but how do I adopt to one of other families?

Hmm and the guy hasn't returned from the Olympics yet? That seems like a bug yeah

I mean I didn't check on Olympic guy specifically later idk if maybe he was also in another nation at the time.

Edit: tbc I know he can't work for me regardless as despite repeatedly checking every few months at various roles, no one from that family even appeared as one of the choices (and yes I scrolled down to very bottom and top each time).

So the problem was non-existent then? Only for about two months?

If they don’t have enough people that can hold jobs they will start adopting until they do :) Just let the game run a bit and it should sort itself out. Sometimes they even adopt minor characters that already have jobs.

I let game run for like 10 years, still whenever I go to select a person for government office or researcher 0 options for someone of that family appear.

They have plenty of characters just in other nations.

Interesting! :) Could you make a bug report with a save of that? I would love to have a look at that game

I'm not to sure how to do that and am busy for next couple of days but early next week (or maybe this sunday) I can try and figure it out. I assume guides on how to attach a save to bug report forum are on the forum?

Thanks :) I will have a look. The challenge is figuring out how it happened in the first place but the save helps a lot all the same.

Turns out that they are all Olympic competitors that formed a family during the competitions and then went home.

Interesting bug and one that should be easy to solve (but not in a way that solves it in your save game sadly).

Thank you for reporting it, im sorry the bug made it into your game.

I've had one potential idea, I checked for ones with that family name, as well as ones that appeared with the family colour thingy a few times but if the person was adopted in and didn't take the family name then the bug could lie with it not showing in recruit that they belong to that family that has 1/2 filled rather than an issue with them not adopting enough.

Either way would be a bug, and Sunday evening if I have time I'll create a bug report on the forum with that save (and check directly each male character for why can't hire instead of just spotting that none are appearing as recruiting option). Or monday if I run out of time sunday.
