Anybody have suggestions on how to make the game run better on a bad computer?

I’m getting a new pc soon but in the mean time I’m playing on a i5 7400 and a gtx1060 3gb and I only have 8 gigs of ram. This is a really bad setup for boneworks but every level up to streets works totally fine. The moment I go through the trash chute my pc just decides to end itself. Any suggestions?

Turn down every graphics setting in the menu is all I got for you, bubba. Sorry.

I manually turned the resolution to 480p just to get through streets but I couldn’t see anything so I just decided to quit and wait

Yeah, you're kinda S.O.L here. I hope someone gives you a good solution, though.

Honestly, I'm sure that's not the answer you want. But it might be time for an upgrade.

The 1060 3gb was already irrelevant at launch. It's pretty much obsolete by today's standards and there's no miracle solution to make the game run better if you already have everything on low.

Maybe make sure to reduce the the MSAA in the game settings and probably set the resolution scale lower in steam VR.
That could help but I don't think you can get a pleasant experience all the way through with that config sadly.

Yeah it’s good at the start but later on it’s bad I’ve got new parts coming soon

Nice, what are you going to get?

2070 super 32gb of ram and an i7 9700k or a Ryzen 5 3600 I don’t know if I can justify the 150 extra dollars for an i7

I mean, if you got the budget for an i7 9700k, I believe it'll give you better performances. Mostly at high FPS games though.

But the Ryzen 3600 is more than enough for pretty much all cases imo.

I currently have a 2070 super / Ryzen 3600 / 16gb ram. You're going to have a blast compared to your current config!

I have the same card. Disable everything, turn on adaptive res, close all other programs, and you might get 60 ish FPS

What cpu do you have and how much ram

i7 8700 and 16gb ram. If your processor meets the 3 ghz requirement you should be fine though.

Also, this game needs more graphic settings.

I agree resolution scaling should be a default setting. I realized that my memory maxes out whenever I play it. I need more ram

pro tip: upgrade the bad computer

That’s odd. I have a shittier setup, yet I had a fine time with the game. A little tearing when a level loaded in but a couple 360 spins helped load everything

Oh... ok I’ll try just letting everything load for a hot second. What is your setup?

I’ve got i5 6600, gtx 970 and 8 gig ram. I do have to say the street level is probably toughest level to load because the area is just very large. I never noticed frame drop in the streets the first time I played, but if I start my game right on the street level, it does tear a lot.

Hopefully the other levels aren’t as bad for you

Ok now I know why my computer was having a tantrum. It fizzled out this afternoon when I tried to open chrome. It will no longer boot up. RIP computer. He was good while he lasted

Oh shit. That’s really unfortunate man. I hope you find a way to get back your stuff. Prayers go out to you dude
