Gamepad Button Mappings with the new Video Player in the Plex client on Shield TV
My question's pretty specific to the Shield TV (2015 Pro in my case), the new Video Player, and the Shield's Gamepad Controller in particular...
With the the Plex cleint's new Video Player, it seems the button mappings have been changed, and in particular, "B" doesn't stop playback anymore - instead you need to hit the android back button. The "B" button works as expected in the rest of the Plex UI though.
For anyone unfamiliar with the layout of the shield gamepad, the back button is in quite an awkward place, it's touch based, it's quite small, and it's bunched together with other buttons that are easy to press by accident.
On the face of it, it's not unintuitive to press the back button to exit/go back, but it just seems the plex devs didn't test the feature with a shield gamepad. The new video player can be turned off for the time being, but I understand it'll eventually become the only option. Apart from this issue, I quite like it - but I've gotten used to the old button mappings over the past four years, and given it works as expected with the old video player, it suggests it could probably be fixed or changed.
Does anyone know of a way to change this - or a forum post or any other discussion on the topic? I get the impression a button mapping app wouldn't be a great solution as it'd likely be a system wide change. Would a bug report or something be the best way to provide some feedback? I'd post this in the r/shieldandroidtv sub, but I think it relates more to Plex itself than the underlying hardware.
Anyway, thanks for any help!
