An initiative for the awareness of politics and politicians in India

I have been thinking what we can do to bring about some sense of awareness about various political issues in India. It is evident that we can no longer believe what the mainstream media tells us.

I suggest we create a website which will have the information of every politician in India and his stand on various issues. It is useful to chart down any other information such as his criminal record, financial background which we can consider when we go out to vote.

We can whine all we want over the fatality of any such initiative but I'd rather be part of a solution even if it doesn't succeed than just sit around on my ass talking or tweeting about it.

There is no dearth of information already available in public but it's just not organized in a way we can decipher to make decisions.

We are in a strange situation that we have to vote the less corrupt of the options of politicians we have. I am willing to discuss this with anyone over how it can be done. I can also do mockups and UI design upto slicing to HTML/CSS.

Let me know if you can contribute in any way. I am learning programming and should be good enough to make something like we need in few weeks. If it convinces you then it's great otherwise I will do it alone eventually.
